François Fillon returns to Cassation Court

After his victory before the French Constitutional Council (decision no. 2023-1062 QPC, September 28, 2023), François Fillon is referred to Cassation Court and can raise the nullity of the procedure carried out against him.

On Wednesday February 28, 2024, the Cassation Court could rule on the consequences of this decision and overturn the 2022 appeal ruling. If this cassation occurs, there will therefore be a third trial which will then have to say whether the former Prime Minister benefited from an independent and impartial trial.
